OmniFocus 2 App Reviews

Good sync, nice for viewing, ridiculously cumbersome to work with

The title says it all, nice for viewing, but try to organize your projects. It takes ages, no drag and drop. Creating a new task and moving it to a task list inside a project takes 3 steps. I like The Mac OS apps by the Omni Group for their usability, but OmniFocus on IPad still has a long way to go.

Beste Todo-App

Beste Todo-App in Kombination mit der Mac-Software. Auch für komplexe Fälle geeignet.

...

your version 2 omnifocus apps are missing features compared to version 1, are buggy and slow, especially the ipad app. i really loved version 1, was using it every damn day in the past years and i had no problem paying for version 2 again but to be honest, version 2 is really not worth the money at the moment!:-( the support told me, that my requests have been added to a "feature vote list" but there should be no need to request features from version 1 and a bug free app:-(

Watch app is broken

Since the most recent update, overdue tasks on the Apple Watch are always 0 which would be nice by the way but which just isn’t the case.

Great GTD app. Only multiple contexts are missing

Best gtd app on the market. Syncing Option to add more than just one possible context to a task is not available

Simply the best...

... Task/Todo/GTD App! Sync works fast and reliable! Thanks to Omni!

Getting Things Done

This App is Getting Things Done ! Just try it. 30days trail!!!!

Yes its superb

Youre reading this because you wonder if omnifocus is suited for your needs and/or if its worth the money. It is. If they added templates it would be perfect but it still is by far the best gtd app (but not just that, i dont use it in a regular gtd-style but have slightly modified it, just like anyone who uses omnifocus for a longer time) and its also very good to modify the interface to suit your preferences. I can also recommend pro, at least for anyone who is willing to also spend several hours to set it up properly.

Unreliable

It does everything nicely except that it is pretty unreliable e.g. overdue tasks are just lying around without any reminders and one has to open the app and remind oneself etc. Reminders.app does that part well and with a few tweaks it beats OmniFocus easily. Also the Price is too high for an app that lacks badly in the getting things done department, if I have to keep track of everything anyway because the app does not, why would I need an app in the first place.

New look is an eye sore

Went back to version 1. The difference does not warrant a charge. How hard is it to allow users to chose how they want thins to look. Hideous.

One of the Greatest Productivity Apps of All Time.

Omnifocus for all apple devices is one of the best productivity apps of all time. This app combined with GTD helped to change the way my life is run in a hugely positive way. This update makes the latest iPad app even better and more stable. Cheers

Worth every penny!

I have been using Omnifocus for a couple of years now, both on iPhone and iPad, and can tell you that it has been a very satisfying experience. I use their included Omnisync service and have experienced no data loss, and other than having to wait a few seconds for the devices to sync, it has been like using one device. This is a professional level tool, and saves you the money you spend in no time. With the advent of being able to create and manage perspectives it has become even more powerful! I cannot say enough about this product, it is worth every penny!

Most powerful productivity app

Ever!

essentials

one of the few apps that are essential to my productivity

Fantastic

The is the most used app on my iPhone next to iMessage.

OmniFocus — the best task management tool for the job

I’ve been relying on OmniFocus daily for years now; can’t imagine working without it. The iOS and OS X versions work seamlessly together with fast, rock-solid data sync across multiple devices, a thoughtful and consistent interface that brings the full power of the desktop app to your iPhone & iPad, and a flexible workflow that lets you focus your time and attention on what matters most.

Great GTD app!

Also really like the Apple Watch integration

Unique and well designed task manager

The built in Reminders app was not sufficient for what I was looking for in a task manager, so I tried a handful of the more popular and well-regarded ones here. Out of the bunch, OmniFocus was the standout. OmniFocus has its own ideas about how it should/can be used. To get the most out of it you need to buy into its concepts of actions, projects, action groups, sub projects, folders, and contexts. If you can do that, you will find it can be a very powerful and intuitive tool. If not, you may get frustrated because how some of the features work is not always intuitive. In other words, expect a learning curve if you want to learn its nuances and get the most out of it. There are some quirks between the iPad an iPhone versions. You can, for example, create an action directly inside a subproject on the iPhone. But on the iPad there does not seem to be a way to do that; you have to create the action one level up and then move it in a second step into the subproject. Not a deal breaker but it does deter from an otherwise polished product. I have also experienced crashes on occasion with this version. OmniGroup seems to be quite active in updating and updating their products so I expect this to become a non-issue. I have contacted OmniGroup customer support on a couple of occasions and the response and timeliness has been excellent.

OmniFocus - Friendly for beginners

I have watched the OmniFocus videos, studied the screenshots, and listened to numerous podcasters who I respect over the years talk about the wonders of this program. For months now, I was on the edge. OmniFocus sounded poweful, but with power often comes needless complexity. My worry was that I would never be able to get a handle on the tool, and its power would remain only theoretical. Well, I took the plunge today, and so far have only positive results to report. The choices and screens are intuitive and although everything is new, it does not seem arbitrary or forced. The UI is friendly and welcoming for a beginner like me. Only time will tell, but so far, so good.

Overrated

I dont find this useful. This software is certainly overrated.
